Benjamín is a Chilean film, theater and television actor and entrepreneur, who has developed his career in Chile, Argentina and Spain. He was selected as the seventh best Chilean actor of all time by the list “Chile Chooses”, in 2006.
At 21, he worked for the first time on television in the “Vivir al Día”miniseries, which touched on sensitive issues for society, such as homosexuality and drugs, among other topics typical of Chilean youth in the 1990s. In 2005 he worked on Channel 13 Argentina, to participate in the series “Los Simuladores” (The Pretenders), personifying Gabriel Medina.
His film debut was in “Lucha social digital” (Digital Social Struggle), under the direction of Boris Quercia, which premiered in 2001. In 2006, “Fuga” (Escape) premiered, a Chilean and Argentine co-production, for which he was recognized at the Malaga Film Festival in Spain, the Trieste Festival of Latin American cinema and at the London Film Festival as best actor.
In 2008 he debuted in Spanish cinema with “Fuera de Carta” (Chef´s Special), under the direction of Nacho García Velilla, and won the New York Ace Awards for best actor.
Together with Gonzalo Valenzuela, he is the founder of the Mori Cultural Center. The actors bought a house in 2004 in the Bellavista neighborhood, the most important cultural area of Santiago, and restored the property until it became the first room of the Center, the Mori Bellavista Theater.
