From an early age he was attracted to the world of cameras and video. Thus, was born the passion for what would later become his career and his life: cinema. At seven years old he had already made his first short film.
He is a Uruguayan film director and screenwriter, known mainly for having directed the remake of "Posesión Infernal/Evil Dead" and the thriller "No respires/Don´t breathe."
Álvarez received two awards at the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival with his short film “El Cojonudo” (2006), but his consecration came with the science fiction short film “¡Ataque de Pánico!/ Panic Attack!” Which in 2009 received millions of views on YouTube. Shortly after, he was hired to remake this film in “Ghost House Pictures 2.” in 2013 he was entrusted with the direction of the film “Posesión infernal 3/Evil Dead 3” and a new version of the game “Dante's Inferno 4”.
Later, he revolutionized the big screen and Hollywood rolled out the red carpet to receive him.
